APEX PARK

Public BBQ

Apex Park in Yea occupies that peculiar category of places that manage to be both disappointing and oddly endearing. The barbecues, mercifully, work better than those at Railway Park (a blessing not to be underestimated), and there's proper shelter and running water - the basics sorted, as it were. The undercover picnic tables provide decent respite, and the kids will find a playground, though calling it "most ordinary" would be generous. What's baffling is the complete absence of bins despite rubbish scattered about like confetti after a particularly untidy celebration. The location on High Street proves handy enough, with parking nearby, but one can't help wondering if Murrindindi Council forgot this little gem exists. Still, when the barbecue fires up properly and you're sheltered from the elements, Apex Park delivers exactly what a travelling family needs - just bring your own rubbish bag.
